A Week is a Long Time in Politics

The week ended on July 6, 2024. Interesting news items to look at this week are:

1. A Week is a Long Time in Politics: The realities of the title quote from Harold Wilson once again rang truth in the first week of the latter half of 2024. (Fig. 1).

It was only last week that I lamented US war escalations in Ukraine and Israel in Gaza could lead us into WWIII. However, this week’s political wind change may bring green shoots of peace into sight. Warmonger globalists in various Western countries were seen to have been distanced by their voting constituencies.

(i) Britain's Labor Party swept to power Friday after more than a decade in opposition (Fig. 2).

Of interest is a record of 12 sitting cabinet members lost their seats (Fig. 3).

(ii) In France Macron's centrist party suffers historic defeat in first round of voting. (Fig. 4).

In the complex proportional representation system, election engineering by the centralist and leftists is at a feverish pitch to consolidate their second preferences away from Marine Le Pen’s National Rally( Fig. 5).

(iii) Powerful Democratic backers to pause donations until Joe Biden steps aside (Fig. 6):

On Thursday, Abigail Disney – the heir to the Disney family fortune and a major party donor – announced she would withhold donations unless Biden dropped out of the race. “This is realism, not disrespect,” Disney told CNBC, adding: “If Biden does not step down the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.”

So one down and two to go. Few understand why Europe choose corrupt Ukraine over historic neighbor Russia when Russia and Europe were at peace and Europe’s economy thrived on cheap and green natural gas energy from Russia. In a strange twist of convoluted logic, for US to get to China, the Anglo American Empire deemed it expedient to first weaken a military superpower as Russia and thought it can later stage and win a two front war in Asia as well. One thing I am certain, no matter now slick is the spin and propaganda, pain has the ultimate effect of awakening the masses.

2. South China Sea Tensions Eases: China's second aircraft carrier 'Shandong' has been deployed to patrol waters off the Philippine coast amidst growing tensions over territorial claims in the South China Sea, serving as a deterrent against perceived provocations. (Fig. 7).

In response, President Marcos of the Philippines announced a withdrawal of US installed Typhoon Mid Range Missile System to ease tensions. (Fig. 8)

3. Notable Reactions in the Financial Markets, first week in July: Fig. 9).

USD took a decidedly turn to weakness and USD Index dropped close to 1%. Commodity prices strengthened with Silver (+7.25%), Copper (+6.76%), Uranium (+5.79%), Gold (+2.83%) and Oil (+1.94%). Details of the BRICS settlement currency called “The Unit”, began to emerge which will pegged as to 60% of a basket of BRICS currencies and to 40% Gold. Global South Countries will trade in bilateral domestic currencies with annual net settlement in “The Unit”. A blockchain based decentralized system called mBridge set up in collaboration by the BIS, People’s Bank of China, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and the Central Banks of Thailand and UAE since 2022 has since gathered pace with Saudi Arabia recently decided to join the fray in a global de-dollarization drive. (Fig. 10).

The mBrifge mechanism will take only 7 seconds to complete a trade settlement as compared to 3 days in a SWIFT bank to bank transaction and at a much lower cost. Bitcoin for the week dropped 6%.

Matthew 5:3  "Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4  Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. 5  Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. 6  Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. 7  Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. 8  Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. 9  Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. 10  Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11  "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12  Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
